Strap: Nurturing communication through play and connection.
I support children in their early years with warmth and expertise, helping them communicate through connection, play, and trust. My approach is neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, and rooted in natural, child-led, play-based language development, ensuring children and their families feel safe, understood, and celebrated as they grow together.
About me page:
I am a Speech and Language Therapist and Nurture Practitioner based in the UK, dedicated to supporting children in their early years and those with complex needs. My work centres on creating safe, trusting relationships where communication can grow naturally.
I qualified from City University London in 2004, and worked in the NHS. I home educated my children through the primary school years and found this to be an incredible journey of learning and discovery for us all. During time working in education, I trained as a nurture practitioner with nutureuk.
I am trained in intensive interaction, non-directive communication therapy through play and my approach is informed by an interest in gestalt language processing, and natural language acquisition. I am always striving to meet and celebrate each child’s unique strengths and needs. With a background in music and art, I make creativity the centre point of my therapeutic philosophy. I aim for my practice to be neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed, ensuring that every child feels respected, understood, and celebrated for who they are.
With warmth and a deep belief in the power of connection, I want to help children and families discover meaningful ways to communicate and thrive together.
I am experienced in supporting communication in children with autism, complex needs, gestalt language processors, language delay, language disorder, and speech sound difficulties.
If you would like to discuss your child’s needs with me, please give me a call, drop me an email or fill in the contact form – I am more than happy to chat for a few minutes, free-of-charge, to see if I can be of assistanc
